Pauline grew up in Perth Western Australia. After studying teaching, she pursued a successful career in fashion, designing and coordinating women's clothing before starting her own family in 1994.
Pauline has developed and explored her love of textiles through stitching, quilting and appliqué. When she discovered feltmaking the appeal was instant, a wonderful medium to combine vibrant colour, fine detail and glorious textures.
“The collecting of fabrics and their history are often the starting point for my work. Sometimes it is the tiniest scrap of fabric that makes a piece wonderful."
"I love that all the small fragments make up one beautiful artwork together.”
“Feltmaking allows me to combine the pattern and textures of silk, cotton and velvets with the natural strength and beautiful rich colours of wool.”
Pauline has been working in textiles for some years creating her unique pieces.
Utilising various techniques as collage, nuno and resist, Pauline brings together fabric and fibre to produce beautiful, rather painterly works.
Pauline has run textile workshops since 2005.
